Please read this Privacy Policy and Cookies (‘the Policy’) carefully as it describes our collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of your personal information. If any notion is not defined in this Policy, this notion is used as it is stated in the Terms and Conditions.

1. The data we collect

There are three categories of data we collect:

1.1 The data provided by the User.

We obtain the data you provide us when using the Site:

  1. when you register for Dormis account, communicate the Host via chat, send a request to book or make the booking we request certain data as Name, email, phone number, address and birthday;
  2. profile photo, name, your response rate, as well as the time when you published your listings on the Site are publicly visible to other users;
  3. for security reasons we may collect ID data (photo/scan of your ID document);
  4. payment information (the number of your bank account and your card number) is collected when you use the Payment Services to process payments;
  5. when communicating with the help of Dormis Platform, we collect information about your communication and other information on your choice.

1.2 The data we collect automatically when you use Dormis.

We obtain the data about the tools and services you use and the way of your interaction with them:

  1. we collect information about your interaction with the Platform: pages viewed or other content, search requests, bookings and other activity on Dormis;
  2. we may collect information about your location ( Internet Protocol (IP) address, ZIP code) or more detailed information about your location (due to GPS system in your mobile device). You can turn Location Services off or on at Settings of your device;
  3. we collect information related to the transactions made on Dormis, including date and time, the amounts involved, and other details of transactions;
  4. cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and other similar technologies, such as web beacons, pixels, and mobile identifiers. We may also let our business partners use these tracking technologies on Dormis or engage the third party to track your behavior.

1.3 The data we collect from third Parties.

We also obtain certain information from third parties when they interact with our Platform or and unite it with the data obtained from the other sources, but Dormis:

  1. when you link, connect or log into your Dormis account through third party services (Facebook, Google+), these services may supply us with your data (your registration or profile data from these services). This data may vary is controlled by those services or according to your privacy settings at those services;
  2. in accordance with current legislation, we may obtain additional information about the Users (e.g. demographic data or information related to fraud detection) from the third party service providers and/or partners, and unite it with the previously obtained information. For the reasons of fraud prevention and risk assessment efforts, we may also get check results or fraud warnings from the background service providers like identity verification services. The information about you and your activities on and off Dormis may be received through partnerships; the information about your experiences and interactions may be received from our advertising partners.

2. How the collected data is used

We obtain, store, process and use data about you in order to understand, improve, develop and provide better services and experience at Dormis Platform, as well as for creation and maintenance of a reliable and safe environment;

  1. provide you access and use of Dormis Platform;
  2. enable your communication with other users;
  3. enable your access and use of Payment Services;
  4. ensure Dormis operation, protection, improvement and optimization through analytics and research conduction;
  5. personalization and customization of your experience by ranking search results or showing listings based on your search parameters, booking history, and preferences;
  6. we may use and store your contact information for (1) sending referral invitations, (2) send your requests for references, (3) fraud detection and prevention;
  7. detection and prevention of spam, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity;
  8. conduct investigations and risk assessments;
  9. verification or authentication of data provided by you (e.g. to verify your Property address or compare your identification photo to another photo you provide);
  10. conduct checks against databases and other information sources;
  11. comply with our legal obligations;
  12. resolve any disputes with our users and enforce our agreements with third parties;
  13. send you promotional messages, marketing, advertising, and other information you may be interested in;
  14. personalization, measurement, and improvement of advertising.

3. Sharing and disclosure

In order to simplify the booking process Dormis reserves the right to share the information you provide to other Users in the following cases:

  1. at sending a booking request as a Guest or make a booking, certain information about you (e.g. your full name, phone number, email address, etc.) is shared with the Host to enable further communication after a booking is made so that you can arrange the check-in process by obtaining the necessary details from the Host;
  2. when writing a message to the Host, your full name is displayed;
  3. when you approve the received booking request as a Host, the Guest gets certain information related to booking and check-in coordination (e.g. your email address, full name, phone number, accommodation address).

We don’t share your payout information with other users of Dormis.

Dormis lets you upload and publish the following information that will be subject to be visible to the public as:

  1. your profile page with the related data (your first name, your photo);
  2. pages of the listing that include such information as the location area of the property, description of the property, availability calendar, the Host’s public profile photo and name, date of publication, response rate and any additional information the Host considers to share;
  3. after a booking is complete, both the Guests and the Hosts may share their opinion about the experience of having a deal through leaving a review and rate system. Reviews become a part of the profile page and are publicly displayed.

The data you decide to share on Dormis may be subject to third party indexation, such as search engines robots and may be shown in search results in the case of relevant request. We are not involved in the third party search engines practices, which may use and store caches containing the outdated information.

4. Security and compliance with legislation

Dormis may disclose your information to the court, law enforcement and other state authorities or authorized third parties, to the extent required by law, or if such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (1) comply with legal procedures and respond to claims made against Dormis, (2) response to requests with regards to criminal investigations or alleged illegal or other activities that may entail our, your or other users’ legal liability, (3) meet with and enforce our Terms and conditions or any other agreements with the users, (4) investigate and prevent fraud, support users, develop the product and eliminate technical defects, or (5) protect rights, properties and provide personal safety of Dormis, its employees, users or other persons.

We will make every effort to notify users about such requests for information, excluding the following cases: (1) the notification is prohibited by the law enforcement process, by court order we received, or by applicable law, or (2) if there are grounds to believe that the notification will be useless, ineffective, or create a risk of causing Harm to health or physical harm to any person or group of persons, or will create/increase the risk of fraud for Dormis properties and its users. In instances where we comply with legal requests without notice for these reasons, we will attempt to notify that user about the request after the fact if we determine in good faith that we are no longer legally prohibited from doing so and that no risk scenarios apply.

5. Aggregated data

By the means of this website an aggregated data may be shared (like the information about the users of our service united so that it no longer identifies or refers to a specific user) and the information for industry and market analysis, demographic profiling, marketing and advertising, and other business purposes that is not personally identifiable.

6. Analyses of your messages

For the reasons of fraud prevention, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, investigation, product development, research, and customer support purposes we may review, scan or analyze your communication on Dormis. As part of our fraud prevention efforts, we may scan and analyze messages which hide contact data and references to other websites. To correct, improve, and expand product offerings, we may as well scan, review, or analyze messages. We use automated methods of review and analyses. However, occasionally we may need to review some communication manually, such as for fraud investigations and customer support, or to assess and improve the functionality of these automated tools. We do not review, scan, or analyze your communication in order to send third party marketing messages to you, and we do not sell reviews or analyses of these communications.

7. Google Maps/Earth

Maps and the related location tools on the Site are provided by Google and are the subject to the Google Maps terms and conditions located at Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

8. Safety

We constantly take and update administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, deletion or modification. However, none of the ways to transfer information via the Internet can be 100% secure. Therefore, we can not guarantee the security of your information transfer and storage.

9. Cookies

Dormis uses “cookies” and similar technologies for storing information, and accessing information stored, on a user’s equipment such as their computer or mobile.

Dormis uses “cookies” a small data fragment sent by the web server and stored on the user's computer or any mobile the device with the access to the internet. A web client (usually a web browser) always sends this piece of data to the web server as part of an HTTP request whenever it tries to open the page of the corresponding site. Cookies are used to store data on the user's side, in practice it is commonly used for:

  1. User authentication;
  2. Storage of personal preferences and user settings;
  3. Tracking the session state of the user's access;
  4. Maintain statistics about users.

We also use other technologies with similar functionality to cookies, such as web beacons, pixels, mobile identifiers, and tracking URLs. For example, our email messages may contain web beacons and track URLs to determine whether you have opened a certain message or accessed a certain link.

We may use these technologies to: (1) make it easier for you to use our Platform and services; (2) show you content (including advertisements) that is more relevant to you; (3) detect and prevent fraud activity, (4) better understand how you use our Platform so that we could optimize it.

Third Parties

We may also introduce some of the business partners to using their technologies on Dormis in order to: (1) market and advertise Dormis listings or services to you on the Platform and Third-party websites, (2) help us detect or prevent fraud or conduct risk assessments.

Third parties may also use detecting technologies to demonstrate ads that are more relevant to you.

User Experience

Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can modify your browser setting to decline cookies visiting the Help section of your browser’s toolbar.

Your mobile device may allow you to control cookies through its settings function. Please refer to your device manufacturer’s instructions for more information.

If you choose to decline cookies, some parts of the Site may not work properly or may not work at all.

10. Amendments to the Privacy Policy

Dormis reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. In the event that any amendments are made, the revised Privacy Policy shall be posted on this Site immediately. In order to be aware of the recent modifications and amendments to the present privacy policy please check the posted herein information regularly. The date of the most recent changes or revisions will appear at the top of this page. In case you disagree with the changed Policy you have to stop using Dormis. If you continue to use Dormis after the posted effective date, you hereby agree to the updated Policy.
